"Newsletter" Privacy Policy
Pursuant to Articles 13 and 14 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 on the protection of personal data (hereinafter referred to as the Regulation) and Legislative Decree 10.8.2018, No. 101, in relation to your personal data acquired when registering for our newsletter service or when establishing a contractual relationship as a customer, we inform you of the following:

The owner of the processing procedure for personal data collection through the newsletter registration form on the web page https://www.giappichelli.it/giappichelli/newsletter/ is G. Giappichelli Editore - Via Po 21, 10124 Torino (Italy) - Telephone: 011-8153111 - C.F. and P.IVA IT 02874520014, hereafter simply referred to as "Giappichelli", which will determine the purposes and means of the processing of the collected data.
Personal data means any information concerning an identified or identifiable physical person, hereafter referred to simply as "data subject."
Processing means any operation or set of operations, whether or not involving automated processes, applied to personal data or sets of personal data, such as collection, recording, organisation, structuring, storage, adaptation or alteration, retrieval, consultation, use, disclosure by transmission, dissemination or otherwise making available, comparison or interconnection, restriction, deletion or destruction.
The data communicated by the interested party to Giappichelli through registration in the newsletter are processed in full compliance with European Regulation 679/2016 and to this end the owner provides the interested party with the following information.
Purpose and legal basis of processing
Personal data communicated by the data subject will be processed by Giappichelli in order to provide the requested newsletter service free of charge.
The legal basis for such processing is to be found in approval by the person concerned, which, in accordance to the provisions of Law, must represent a, specific, informed and unequivocal expression of free will, by which it communicates approval by means of statement or positive action.
Registration also requires an indication of profession to enable Giappichelli to send a newsletter targeted towards the needs of the person concerned.
The interested party may also express - always optionally - his or her explicit consent to the collection of information regarding his or her date of birth, in order to allow Giappichelli to send dedicated commercial offers, as well as to carry out market research and commercial statistics.
The legal basis for processing may also be found as a legitimate interest of Giappichelli in case of use, for the purpose of direct sales of its own products or services and of e-mail coordinates provided by the data subject in the context of a previous sale or of a similar product or service.
In the latter case, Giappichelli's legitimate interest is represented by the desire to inform the client about its business based on a balance between the rights and interests of the owner and those of the data subject.
For all the purposes listed, personal data will be processed within the limits of what has been communicated by the data subject, so as to minimise any invasiveness of processing in relation to him or her, given his or her expectations in relation to the information he or she has shared with Giappichelli.
In any case, the data subject may exercise his or her right to object and withdraw consent in the manner indicated below (Withdrawal of Consent and Right to Object).
Method of Processing
The newsletter service, data collection and profiling will be done through computerised tools.
Data will be contained in the owner's file, created to facilitate the proper processing of personal data, in relation to the nature, purpose and duration of processing, the rights of the data subjects and, in particular, those relating to the right to withdraw consent and the right to object.
Failure to provide an e-mail address in the "e-mail" field or lack of consent, for the purpose of sending the newsletter, will make it impossible for Giappichelli to provide the person concerned with this service.
The non-disclosure of other (optional) personal data or the lack of consent to processing for the purposes other than the general sending of the newsletter will not condition the performance of this service in favour of the data subject.
Recipients
Personal data collected during registration will be processed internally at Giappichelli through authorised personnel or through parties who will process personal data on behalf of Giappichelli after being contracted as data processors and adopting due safeguards to protect personal data.
In any case, data will not be transferred in any way to a country outside the European Union.
Process Duration
The personal data collected will be kept only for as long as the newsletter service is active and as long as the data subject does not object to receiving the newsletter- for any matter, data related to the profiling of data subject will not be kept for a period longer than twenty-four months after their registration.Beyond twenty-four months, new consent will be required from the data subject for processing of relevant data.
Data subject’s Rights
The interested party may exercise the following rights against Giappichelli:
- To obtain confirmation of the existence of personal data concerning him/her and communication of such data in comprehensible form.
- Cancellation and limitation of processing.
- To obtain updated, corrected and supplemented data.
- in cases established by Law, receive, in a structured format for common use and device-readable, personal data provided.
- File a complaint to the Data Protection Manager and/or judicial review if you believe that your rights have been violated as a result of processing.
Consent withdrawal and Right to opposition
In particular, Giappichelli would like to bring to the interested party's attention that at the time of registration, an email will be sent requesting definitive consent in order to subscribe to the newsletter, via confirmation by clicking a link, and when each newsletter is sent, they will be informed of the possibility to object to the processing and to revoke consent, simply by clicking the "unsubscribe" button at the bottom of the email.
